Year 2

It has been a busy start to the semester. Students have been enthusiastic and hardworking exploring many different learning experiences. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents who support their children’s learning. This term students enjoyed taking part in the gymnastics program, an excursion to the Melbourne Zoo and a hip hop Incursion.

In English students have been learning how to write a narrative. During maths lessons, students have been focusing largely on multiplication. To carry out their learning, we have been playing top dog each week to encourage them to practise their multiplication facts. During integrated studies, we have been focusing on the topics of Watch it Grow and Water Works. Students enjoyed making grass heads as well as noting down all changes that occurred.

A reminder that students are required to complete their online homework tasks within a week. Online tasks are part of homework and are recorded on SEQTA. You can use SEQTA to follow all progress.

Whenever students are enjoying their Readers, we expect them to complete their reader logs. This should include the date, title, a comment and a parent or guardian’s signature. This is now also noted on SEQTA and can be easily viewed by parents. Library day for 2A is on Tuesday and for 2B it is on Friday. Students can only borrow books if they have their correct folders. If you don’t have your username and password for SEQTA, please see the office.

During Numeracy Week, students played various maths games. From each class a winner and runner up were chosen. We would like to commend all students on their efforts.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.
